572 Closed-Loop Clinical Audit on Blood Results in Urology Department During Ward Rounds

Abstract Aim Clinical governance states that blood results should be flagged during ward rounds to enable better assessment of inpatients. As per our institutional Protocol, each patient is assigned a sheet which updated every day with outstanding bloods circle. The aim the audit was evaluate quality result sheets and discuss in order enhance care. Method Data collected from Urology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary continuously November 2020. We reviewed flagging abnormal whether clear documentation baseline eGFR included. Intervention carried out by series discussion nursing medical staff along display posters throughout rooms. Results Overall, first cycle assessed 65 folders second 79. noticed increased 70% 74%. Documentation raised 32% 44%. Initially, only 73% were appropriately placed correct folder improved reached 100% on review. Conclusions demonstrated serious breach protocols could delay affect re-audit post intervention illustrated active efforts part can significantly improve outcomes. However, sustained form audits induction program needed bring sustainable change departmental practice.
